First Day of School
This picture pretty much sums up the morning of Mackenzie's first day at Mother's Day Out. She woke up a little cranky, wanted nothing to do with getting ready and only wanted to watch Mickey Mouse and Backyardigans. So, when I tried to take the "first-day-of-school" pictures with her backpack, lunchbox and cute outfit, it didn't exactly work out the way I had hoped. The picture above is what I got instead.
Things didn't get too much better once we got to school. She was not happy about being dropped off at a new place and clung to Jeremy with all her might. That was hard! I was emotional as it was and then to have to leave her screaming and crying...needless to say there were some waterworks on my part as well. But I was ok after a little while and supposedly she was too. Her daily "report card" said that she had a "very happy day!" That's encouraging. I know things will get better with time (for both of us) and she'll eventually grow to love going to school. My little baby is growing up so fast!
Good morning, big girl! It's your 1st day of school!
The only way we could get her picture taken with her school supplies

What a Faithful God!
The paragraph below was sent out in an email from the Director of Women's Ministry at Prestonwood, Debbie Stuart. It was just too encouraging not to share! She is such an incredible woman and I feel so blessed to be learning from her!!
On a personal note, the Lord brought me to the sweetest verse this morning and I wanted to share it with you. It's Isaiah 66:9: "I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord." Now think on that a minute. Whatever painful circumstances you may find yourself in, know that it is not without benefit! He uses your pain for your progress.... It's a promise! So stand firm in the full confidence that God is about to do something new, and serve notice to the enemy that the plan he intended for evil will soon bring about something good. Interestingly enough, that verse is quoted from the New Century Version and used by Thomas Nelson in the Children's Bible--third grade reading level. Some of us are just on that level and need to hear it plain.

Neigh neighs!
On the way to church we always pass by the "neigh neighs" (aka horses) and Mackenzie just squeals with delight. A few weeks ago we decided to stop and feed them some carrots. This is what the pictures and video are from. It was one of the cutest moments!
We've now made it a Sunday tradition before church to stop and feed the horses. It's the best way to start off the day! It's incredible to watch and experience the child-like wonder and amazement Mackenzie has for the beautiful neigh neighs.
